Seminal punk rock impresario, inventive musical stylist, and evocative visual artist, Malcolm McLaren recently commandeered the "Crossroads of America". McLaren was conscripted by New York City art collective Creative Time to produce something for their upcoming video art presentation in Times Square. The result is McLaren's take on this year's theme, "Shallow", with a series of "musical paintings". On display on MTV's giant HD gilded screen, between 44th & 45th, McLaren's envelope pushing films, which feature slowed downed pre-coitus clips from porno films of the 50's, 60's and 70's. These films are to be accompanied by musical "cut-ups" created by the artist. The films will be on display from June 25th through August 14th.
